Fes
While you are undergoing a journey to Morocco, you may visit Fes, which was founded shortly after the Arabs first entered North Africa in the eighth century AD. Fès is the oldest of the Morocco’s imperial cities.y. But following the death of the sultan, Yacoub al-Mansour, in 1199, the construction was abandoned and the tower rose to just 140feet.

Its medina is the largest medina in Morocco. It has got an enchanting, medieval maze of mosques. There are also food markets and covered bazaars filled with crafts, like metalwork objects and rugs.

The Souk Dabbaghin has the tanneries where leather has been dyed for hundreds of years. At present, this traditional craft is still in practice, and the visitors can see the big vats of dye and the colored leather that is laid out to dry in the sun. Al-Qarawiyin Theological University, founded in 857 AD, which is the oldest university in the western world, is situated here. The Medersa Bou Inania was established in 1350 as a rival to the Al-Qarawiyin University and is also a splendid example of the beautiful Andalusian architecture.
